Q: WHAT IS ONEIGHTY?

A: Oneighty is the local church youth ministry of Abundant Living Faith Center.

Q: WHAT HAPPENS AT ONEIGHTY?

A: Oneighty is a safe place for you to come and enjoy the very best worship service, hang out with your friends and meet some new ones.  Oneighty features a sweet gameroom with video games, Xbox360, PS3 and Wii stations, a Rock Band stage, billiards tables, fooseball, air hockey and a full service cafe to satisfy your hunger.

Q: WHAT TIME DOES ONEIGHTY START?
A: Each Wednesday night Oneighty opens the doors at 6:30 p.m. for game room time. The Oneighty  service is geared for our 7th-12th graders and starts at 7:00 p.m.
Our game room is open again after service. Oneighty also has services on Sundays at 8:45 and 11 a.m. The game room is open before and after service on Sundays as well.

Q: CAN I SHOW UP LATE OR LEAVE EARLY?
A: You wouldn't do it at the movies, so why even ask? For reals though, the service is the most important part of your Oneighty experience. So we ask that you show up on time and plan on staying until the service is over.

Q: HOW OLD IS "TOO OLD" AND HOW YOUNG IS "TOO YOUNG?"

A: Oneighty is a place created specifically for teenagers, so you need to be a teenager. If you are not yet 13, or in 7th grade, sorry you'll have to wait. But don't worry; we're not going anywhere, and we are only gonna get better. So relax, we will see you soon! If you're 19, or out of High School, the time has come for us to part ways. Unless, of course, you are a member of Abundant Living Faith Center and you want to help us serve teenagers each week. If that's the case stop by our information center and we'll point you in the right direction.

Q: CAN PARENTS COME?
A: We have designed Oneighty to be a place specifically for teenagers, but we want parents to feel welcome to see what their kids are enjoying. We have created an open door policy for parents and you may see some of them wandering around from time to time. So, you had better be on your best behavior just in case the next ones you see are yours!

Q: DO I NEED TO BRING MONEY?
A: The only thing that costs money at Oneighty is the food. All of the video games, billiards tables and everything else is free. So if your stomach IS talking to you, bring a little bit of money so you can talk back. Otherwise, relax it's on the house.

Q: HOW DO I GET TO ONEIGHTY?
A: Ummm. Have you heard of Google maps? Just kidding. We are located at 1000 Valley Crest on the Abundant Living Faith Center campus. Just take 1-10E to the Zaragosa exit, turn right on Valley Crest and come down the hill. If you are coming from the far east side or further, we're on the South side of 1-10 off Zaragosa. Go south on Zaragosa, right on Castner, and left on Valley Crest.

If all that confused you, have you heard of Google maps?

FOR PARENTS

Q: HOW CAN I GET MY STUDENT CONNECTED AT ONEIGHTY?
A: The best way to get connected anywhere is to be there. It’s very hard for someone to feel connected if they’re not even a part. Every week we have a Wednesday night Sunday morning experience designed to connect students to each other through gaming and to God through service. Some other simple ideas are to introduce them to a staff member or leader, get them on a ministry team, bring them to one of our major events or simply sign them up for our Youth Conference. What we’ve found is there’s not one correct answer for every student. So don’t give up.

Q: WHAT DO I DO IF MY STUDENT NEEDS COUNSELING?
A:
Although we are not professional counselors, we have a great church staff, student ministry staff and team of volunteer leaders that talk to students every week. They are more than willing to talk with your student about their needs. Many issues students deal with can be handled through talking with a leader or staff member that they know. Most of the time, we believe that hearing God's Word in our regular services is often the best counsel for your students.

Q: ARE THERE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENTS TO GET INVOLVED IN ONEIGHTY?
A:
Absolutely! We are always looking for responsible adults to help in our ministry. You can volunteer as an usher, greeter, in security, as a game room attendant and even multi-media. Basically whatever interests you, we can find a place for you. Please see Pastor Phil or visit our information center for an application.
